Buyer's guide: CRM, lead management and showroom traffic

    Last reviewed

    What it is

Tools to keep track of people who walk in, call or browse your site, and to follow up with them. Good ones record showroom visits and tie leads to the sale that follows.

    What to look for

    • Easy entry on the sales floor, such as a tablet, so staff actually use it
    • Follow-up texts and email that sound like your store
    • Matching a lead to the sale it became, to show what advertising works
    • Connection to your POS so customer records agree
    • Rules for who owns a lead and when it moves to another salesperson

    Questions to ask a vendor

    • Can you show how a showroom visit becomes a recorded sale?
    • How are text messages handled for consent and opt-out?
    • Who owns the customer data, and can we export it?
    • How many staff users does the price include?
    • What results have furniture clients seen, and how are they measured?

    How pricing usually works

Typically a monthly fee per location or user, sometimes by number of messages or leads. Setup and training can be extra. Ask what happens to the price when you add a store.
